Farm and Garden Design with Permaculture Principles

We specialize in designing regenerative and sustainable landscapes that work with nature, not against it. We combine permaculture principles with experience in designing farms for streamlined market production and ease of farm maintenance. This means, for example, designing in crop diversity for ecosystem biodiversity while ensuring that there is enough of each crop type to easily market, and designing farms for water retention with swales and berms while ensuring that they can be grazed or mowed easily. .

Our approach includes:
-
Site assessment & soil analysis: balancing the soil is step 1 on a productive farm. This includes soil testing and application of soil amendments or rotational grazing of livestock.

-
Water management & irrigation planning: this can be anything from swales/berms and permanent irrigation systems to temporary solutions for droughts.

-
Food forest & edible landscape planning: Integration of organic fruit, nut, and vegetable production on your farm with special consideration of ease of harvesting, maintenance and production, while maintaining organic no-spray standards

-
Integrated pest management strategies: By using locally adapted varieties of fruit and vegetables, pest and disease pressure is lessened significantly. IPM strategies are still needed to ensure bountiful harvests.
